Western Hemisphere: United States-Chile Free Trade Agreement and Environmental Cooperation: Public Session
On August 13, the United States and Chile will reaffirm their commitment to work together to protect the environment at the seventh meeting of the United States - Chile Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Environmental Affairs Council (Council) and the fifth meeting of the United States - Chile Environmental Cooperation Agreement Joint Commission for Environmental Cooperation (Commission) in Washington, D.C.
Commission and Council members will host a public session from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on August 13 at the U.S. Department of State, 2201 C Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20520, George Marshall Conference Center, Room 1499.
This session will allow members of the public to engage with government officials on implementation of the FTA Environment Chapter and Environmental Cooperation Agreement. Judith G. Garber, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs; Jennifer Prescott, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Environment and Natural Resources; Waldemar Coutts, Director of Environment and Maritime Affairs, Chile Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Angelica Romero, Head of Energy, Trade, and Sustainable Development, Chile Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Directorate of International Economic Relations, will deliver opening remarks.
