SMART Wind Consortium Continues Distributed Wind Roadmapping Effort

Funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the SMART Wind Consortium is connecting collaborators to form consensus on plans to increase cost competitiveness of U.S. distributed wind manufacturers through the use of advanced manufacturing techniques. Following July and August Virtual Subgroup Meetings on composites and electrical components, the Distributed Wind Energy Association's SMART Wind Manufacturing Forum in Sacramento, California, will mark the second annual gathering of the full Consortium. Distributed wind manufacturers, supply chain members, and academic partners will convene to focus on automation, robotics, and lean manufacturing processes and work to develop a consensus-based Roadmap that prioritizes solutions to manufacturing gaps and barriers for near-term and future scalability.
