Fresh Healthy Vending and American Diabetes Association Partner to Promote Corporate Initiative "Wellness Lives Here"
Effort Will Raise Funds for Diabetes Research and Give Fresh Healthy Vending Access to Thousands of Business Locations Nationwide
SAN DIEGO, CA- (NewMediaWire) - July 20, 2015 - (OTCQB: VEND) -- Fresh Healthy Vending International, Inc. announces a historical partnership with the American Diabetes Association. The pairing will take advantage of the ADA's relationships with companies and organizations that are interested in having either Healthy Micro Markets or Vending Machines on their premises as an element of their participation in the ADA's Wellness Lives Here program.
Fresh Healthy Vending's high tech equipment offers healthy foods such as salads, sandwiches, wraps, frozen meals, snacks and beverages, all of which benefit those wanting to maintain a healthy diet. The pairing of the American Diabetes Association's business relationships with the Company's franchise network and corporate-operated Fresh Healthy Vending machines and Micro Markets is symbolic of the synergy the two organizations share.
"As the American Diabetes Association celebrates its 75th Anniversary," says Nick Yates, Fresh Healthy Vending's Chairman and Founder. "We are proud to partner with them to promote 'Wellness Lives Here' which, just like our own healthy vending initiative, is designed to inspire and fuel the nation's healthful habits at work and beyond. Reducing the impact of obesity and type 2 diabetes in this country means fewer sick days and higher productivity, both obviously advantageous to employers and employees alike. Our Fresh Healthy Vending machines and Fresh Micro Markets fit perfectly into such a program and our nationwide network of operators will allow the program to be scaled easily across the country."
As part of the agreement, Fresh Healthy Vending will pay a referral fee for each location the ADA refers, as well as a commission percentage that will allow the ADA to continue their pioneering research into diabetes. In exchange, the Company will gain market share from installing both Fresh Micro Markets and Healthy Vending Machines in locations that already have a stated interest in helping employees to make better snack choices.
"Stopping diabetes requires that we educate people about healthier choices and figure out ways to make those healthy choices viable in our busy lives," says John Correia, Associate Director, Fundraising and Special Events of the American Diabetes Association. "Our partnership with FHV gives us a turnkey solution for companies who value wellness and have a busy workforce."
Through the agreement, Fresh Healthy Vending and the ADA hope to also nurture Americans' interest in getting educated about diabetes, which would likely result in healthier eating habits and better health in general. The American Diabetes Association reports there are approximately 29.1 million Americans who have diabetes. The ADA provides objective and credible information about diabetes to Americans everywhere, and funds research to prevent, cure and manage the disease.
