Europe and Eurasia: Travel of Assistant Secretary William R. Brownfield to the Czech Republic and Ukraine
Ambassador William R. Brownfield, Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), will travel to Prague, Czech Republic, July 18–20, 2015, to participate in the Justice Sector Training, Research and Cooperation Program (JusTRAC) Symposium on Eliminating Corruption and Promoting Economic Development in Ukraine. Assistant Secretary Brownfield will deliver opening remarks at a discussion with representatives from the Government of Ukraine, the Government of the Czech Republic, the U.S. Department of State, the Department of Justice, UN Development Programme, other bilateral and multilateral donors, NGOs, and faculty and staff from the Central Eastern European Law Initiative Institute (CEELI Institute), the University of South Carolina, and Charles University in Prague.
From Prague, Assistant Secretary Brownfield will travel to Ukraine from July 20–23, 2015. He will meet with senior Ukrainian government officials and will visit INL programs to support reform of Ukraine’s law enforcement and justice sector institutions, including the Ukrainian Patrol Police and the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service.
