Upcoming Webinars
June 24: Live Webinar on Tribal Renewable Energy Projects
Webinar Sponsor: DOE Office of Indian Energy and Western Area Power Administration
The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "Regulatory Impacts for Renewable Energy Tribal Projects on Indian Lands" on Wednesday, June 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. In this continuation of the Tribal Renewable Energy webinar series, attendees will learn how Tribes play an increasingly critical role in regulating renewable energy projects on their lands. Speakers will discuss community-affecting environmental laws and regulations, such as the National Environmental Policy Act, Section 106, new leasing requirements for renewables, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission process. In addition, speakers will discuss the latest developments related to transmission and interconnection, examples of project development timelines, and case studies.
June 24: Live Webinar On New Construction Hybrids
Webinar Sponsor: Building America Program
The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "New Construction Hybrid-Ductless Heat Pumps Study; Resistance is Futile" on Wednesday, June 24, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. This Building America Program webinar focuses on the use of ductless heat pumps (DHP) as a hybrid "all-electric" heating system in new high-performance homes. Attendees will hear a presentation detailing DHPs and related energy and economic analyses based on monitored field results from an ENERGY STAR community called The Woods at Golden Given, built by Habitat for Humanity. Presenters include Michael Lubliner with Washington State University and Bruce Carter with Tacoma Power.
June 29: Live Webinar on Renewable Natural Gas for Vehicles
Webinar Sponsor: Clean Cities and Vehicle Technologies Office
The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and RINS" on Monday, June 29, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Speakers Shashi Menon from EcoEngineers and Marianne Mintz from Argonne National Laboratory will provide an overview of the use of biogas and renewable natural gas for transportation. In addition, speakers will also discuss renewable identification numbers (RINS): how they are providing an important incentive to producing renewable natural gas, how individual projects qualify for RINS, how producers can obtain RINS, and what documentation is required.
July 14: Live Webinar on Rethinking Building Design
Webinar Sponsor: Building Technologies Office
The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled "Additive Technology: Rethinking of Building Design, Construction, and Recycling" on Tuesday, July 14 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. This webinar is the first in a series of panel discussions exploring the future of our built environment beyond this century. Attendees are invited to join speakers Philip Enquist (Partner, Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill LLP), Lonnie Love (Group Leader, Manufacturing Systems Research Group, Oak Ridge National Laboratory), Roderick Jackson (Group Leader, Building Envelope Systems Research, Oak Ridge National Laboratory), and James Rose (Director, Institute for Smart Structures, University of Tennessee/College of Architecture and Design). They will discuss how additive technology enables us to rethink building design and construction methods.
