Prague more popular than Los Angeles
Golden City is among Top 20 most visited cities in the world, according to new MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index
PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC, June 5, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- According to the MasterCard Global Destination Cities Index, released today, the Czech capital city of Prague will remain on the Top 20 list of the most visited cities in the world this year, occupying the 19th position, as it did in 2014. The index also indicated that Prague will retain its position as the ninth-most visited city in Europe.London, Bangkok and Paris have been the world's most visited cities in terms of international visitor arrivals and spending.
According to MasterCard, the number of international overnight visitors in Prague will increase to about 5.5 million from 5.2 million in 2014. Their average expenses are expected to fall from $650 (16,000 CZK) in 2014 to $603 this year.
Foreigners are due to spend a total of some 82 billion CZK (US $3.28 trillion) in Prague this year, the firm said.
