Ft. Mill, S.C. – June 5, 2015.  The 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off tomorrow with the US Women’s team on the pitch beginning Monday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET against Australia. As the official tire of the US Women’s National team, Continental Tire wanted to bring a little extra #SoccerLove to fans during the tournament. Enter soccer legend, and master of the game, Cobi Jones. Jones will be live tweeting in the Continental Tire Twitter channel (@continentaltire) during the first three US Women’s games. Jones soccer career is storied to say the least. His professional career spanned from 1994 – 2007 as a midfielder, beginning in the English Premiere League and the on to Brazil, before moving back to the US to play for the LA Galaxy for 12 season. One of the first stars of Major League Soccer (MLS), Jones is the all-time leader in caps for the US Men’s National Team. With appearances in the ’94, ’98 and ’02 World Cup events and a member of the 1992 US  Olympic Team, Jones has earned his National Soccer Hall of Fame honor. Today, Jones is a TV analyst for the LA Galaxy games on Time Warner Cable SportsNet, FOX Sports, BeIN Sports, and Pac-12 Network.

Cobi Jones Jones is a true Southern California sports legend, scoring the first goal in Los Angeles Galaxy club history and maintaining the title of the longest standing member of the MLS dynasty. LA’s “original Cobi,” spent 15 seasons with the Galaxy, as both a player and coach from 1996 – 2010. His #13 is the only number in club history to be retired. A 2011 US Soccer Hall of Fame inductee, Cobi is a two-time MLS Cup winner (2002 and 2005) with a storied international career with the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team. A permanent fixture with the team from 1992- 2004, he played in three World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002), amassing 164 caps, and scoring 15 goals and 22 assists, second most in National Team history.  Today, Cobi is in the broadcast booth, as the LA Galaxy analyst with Time Warner Cable SportsNet,, He is a steady member of the Fox Sports soccer commentator line-up, in addition to being on BeIN Sport and the Pac-12 Network.
