FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 23, 2015 – Flushing, NY – House of Spices of Flushing, NY is recalling its 200 gm packages of "Laxmi Dry Apricot" food treats because they contained undeclared sulfites. Consumers who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The product comes in a 200 gm, clear plastic package marked with lot #HNYGH01G14 on the top. The recalled product “Laxmi Dry Apricot” were distributed in New York & New Jersey retail stores.

The voluntary recall was initiated after finding that sulfite was not declared on the label.

No illnesses or allergic reactions involving this product have been reported to date. Consumers who have purchased 200 gm packages of “Laxmi Dry Apricot” with lot# HNYGH01G14 are urged to return them to the place of purchase for full refund.
