Dow Chemical to Purchase 200-MW Wind Energy in Texas
March 2015 - The Dow Chemical Company has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to purchase 200 megawatts (MW) of wind energy from a 35,000-acre wind farm in South Texas. The wind project is currently under development by a subsidiary of Bordas Wind Energy and is expected to be functional by the first quarter of 2016 to provide Dow's Freeport, Texas Manufacturing facility with renewable energy. This purchase will go towards with Dow's 2025 renewable energy goal as part of its Sustainability Goal commitments.
