Media Accreditation: Diplomatic Conference on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications

Journalists wishing to cover the Diplomatic Conference for the Adoption of a New Act of the Lisbon Agreement for the Protection of Appellations of Origin and their International Registration are invited to apply for media accreditation. The diplomatic conference will take place from May 11 to 21, 2015, at WIPO’s Geneva headquarters.
Journalists wishing to cover the conference are requested to submit an accreditation form with the supporting documents by May 4, 2015. Journalists already accredited to the United Nations do not need to submit a separate accreditation form; UN press badges will be honored.
The Diplomatic Conference is convened with the aim of adopting a new Act that will render the Lisbon System more attractive for states and users, while preserving its principles and objectives.
Preparatory work for the diplomatic conference has been ongoing since 2008 in the context of the Working Group on the Development of the Lisbon System which is composed of the 28 member states of the Lisbon Union and other WIPO member states and interested organizations as observers.
