Webinar March 26: Energy Storage for a Greener and More Resilient Grid

IEEE Smart Grid is hosting the webinar “Energy Storage for a Greener and More Resilient Grid” on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 1 to 2 p.m. ET.

The increasing penetration of variable renewable generation storage is now becoming one of the hottest topics in the utility industry. Research on materials and devices has increased cost-effectiveness, cycle life, and safety.

The presentation by OE’s Dr. Imre Gyuk will discuss multi-megawatt applications of a variety of energy storage technologies, including major storage facilities recently constructed in Texas, California, Pennsylvania, and New Mexico under the Recovery Act. As major players begin deploying increasingly more substantial storage projects, operators are recognizing their value for ancillary services.  Storage will make renewables dispatchable and enable deeper penetration. It will also make the grid more resilient, improve asset utilization, and prevent outages.

The webinar is free but registration is required.
