The 3rd Royal Thai Army Corp Commander Kasem Thanaporn visit the areas of Lampang province which has been affected by fire and smoke problem to check and follow up the results of solving smoke problems from widespread forest fires.

With this Major General Kasem Thanaporn join a meeting with the Board of Directors, Head of Lampang Government at the Office of Natural Resources and Environment, Lampang. The officer summarized information regards to fire and smoke problem situation from 1 January to 5 February 2015. It shows that there are 324 point of Hotspots in Lampang. The value of small dust (PM10) higher than the standard value.

As they discussed to decide a solution, Lampang government officers take measures to prevent  upcoming problem from the beginning of the dry season. The  officers focused on public relations work, prevention, preparation, and the restoration including the legal measures. In addition, Major General Kasem Thanaporn ordered to establish the Forest Fire Control Operations Center at 929 village 104 district in Lampang.

Major General Kasem Thanaporn is concern about the forest fire and smoke problems in Lampang province and other provinces in  Northern of Thailand. He  stressed that all government officers must sacrifice to prevent major problems to happen. Furthermore, he recommended that the provincial authorities need to identify the group that will undertake the operation. The officers need to resolve the root  causes and raise awareness to the villagers that many will get affected by widespread forest fires.
