NHL Goes Green with Constellation
January 2015 - The National Hockey League (NHL) is entering a partnership with Constellation Energy to reduce its environmental impact. Constellation will provide Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and carbon offsets to match the NHL's 550,000 metric tons total carbon output for the 2014-15 season. Some of the power will come from sources such as wind farms, landfill gas projects and solar panels at NHL's venues. Also, Constellation will conduct energy efficiency analyses and recommend energy management strategies for the NHL's facilities.
