Lady of the Wind, Journey through Impossible Worlds

PLACERVILLE, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, October 28, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The “Lady of the Wind” is a children’s book written by University of Nuevo Leon graduate Corina del Carmel. Corina, who majored in Visual Arts, currently works as a painter in Northern California. In addition to being a very visual children’s book, the “Lady of the Wind” is also a bilingual poetry book as it is written in both English and Spanish.

Corina’s work is part of many private collections and she has proven her worth as an artist. This professional level of artwork has lent itself to “Lady of the Wind” which is a beautifully illustrated book of journeys. The text in the book was inspired by the illustrations as opposed to the traditional way of writing text and then illustrating a book. This combination of art and poetry transports readers into an impossible fantastical world. The “Lady of the Wind” is a story of a pilgrim who rides the waves of the cosmos in search of a unique and special gift. This search leads to a journey to the valley of memories as the pilgrim wanders through fields of thought and feeling. Corina’s focus is on the human figure as the main element in her work. She portrays human beings as a multi-dimensional being of psychological, social and spiritual elements. Staying on that track, the lesson of the story is that the most valuable things in the world have no price. The truly important things already exist within us to give and share like universal love. Corina’s art is an expression of the human spirit that uses a mutual and individual language. This definition of the human spirit has made “Lady of the Wind” perfect both as a book for children & for the child in all of us. This book stimulates the senses and the images that speak to the young and old alike.

There are plans to use the images from “Lady of the Wind” in immersive installations. One of the ideas for the installation features a rainbow door which opens into a world of butterflies or soap bubbles. The installation would continue with the theme of visual poetry. The project will make some of the images in a mural size print and use elements from the illustrations in a three dimensional format. Corina’s creations of inner and mystic journeys are influenced by living close to nature in the mountains in Northern California. This installation will allow everyone to take this scenic journey like the child in the story.

At this time the goal is to print one thousand copies of this hardcover book. In order to meet this goal a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign has been created and will run until November 22nd. If successful the 12” x 9” book will be ready to ship by December. There are many crowdfunding rewards available to those who make a pledge:
