Intel® IT Centre adopts The Quantum Age of IT for its IT transformation webinar programme
ELY , UK, September 22, 2014 /EINPresswire.com/ -- IT Governance Publishing (ITGP), the world’s leading IT-GRC publisher, has announced a new partnership with Intel® IT Centre inspired by the ITGP book The Quantum Age of IT: why everything you know about IT is about to change. This collaboration sees the adoption of this innovative title by both the Intel® IT Centre and the IT Transformation Institute which are running a joint programme of webinars around the hot topic of IT transformation.
In the book, the author Charles Araujo, founder and CEO of IT Transformation Institute, claims that “IT as we know it is dead.” Araujo explains the causes of this dramatic shift and warns organisations that don’t see the change coming, or don’t prepare for it, that they could be in for a shock.
Alan Calder, founder and executive chairman of IT Governance Ltd, the parent company of ITGP, welcomed the collaboration, saying, “Everyone who works in IT knows that change is a big part of the industry, but Charles Araujo has spotted a profound shift in the skills that IT professionals will need if they want to stay at the top of their game.
“Technical skills will always be needed. However, excellent soft skills as well as a ‘can-do’ service mentality are increasingly required from IT professionals in what is a very competitive industry. Intel® IT Centre has listened to and understood this message, and we are thrilled to be involved with the IT transformation webinar programme through the adoption of this ITGP title.”
In his blog, Chris Peters of Intel® explains the significance of the book’s message. “After I finished reading The Quantum Age of IT by Charles Araujo, I began thinking about the Industrial Revolution that took place during the late 18th century…This revolution changed the way human beings lived their daily lives. And it started with human beings who understood the capacity of technology to simplify and enhance life.
“Fast forward 250 years and we see these same forces around us today impacting the IT industry. The Quantum Age of IT eloquently summarizes this revolution. IT as we know it has changed — with each new day, the expectations of IT organizations are evolving rapidly and new skills, technologies, and business relationships are needed for success. It’s crucial for us to recognize that these changes did not occur overnight, but are rather a manifestation of forces that have been building for years.”
To mark the start of the IT Transformation webinar programme, the Intel® IT Centre, the IT Transformation Institute and ITGP have produced a special edition of The Quantum Age of IT. It is available for those who join the Intel® IT Centre community and sign up to the free webinars. The book will be available at a significant discount throughout the webinar programme.
