Colorado State University Plans to Install a 1,100 kW Solar Array on Campus

August 2014 - Colorado State University (CSU), Fort Collins Utilities and Namaste Solar, a Boulder - based commercial solar service company, are collaborating on the construction of 1,100 kilowatts (kW) solar panels on the roofs of CSU's Student Recreation Center, Veterinary Teaching Hospital, the Durrell Center, and Braiden, Parmalee and Corbett residence halls. The solar arrays are expected to be constructed by June 2015. In addition, after the first round of the 2014 Green Energy Challenge, CSU's students were in first place out of 15 teams with a plan that would decrease energy consumption in Hartshorn Medical Center by up to 60 percent.
