Deep River Waterpark Powered by Renewable Energy in August 2014
August 2014 - Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO), an Indiana – based energy distribution company, is partnering with the Lake County Parks Department to power Deep River Waterpark with renewable energy. During the month of August 2014, the waterpark's services, ranging from the wave pool and water slides to the lights and other electronic equipment, will be powered exclusively by renewable energy as part of NIPSCO’s Green Power Program. The partnership is intended to help raise awareness of renewable energy and NIPSCO's Green Power Program. To offset the water park's energy use, NIPSCO has purchased Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) equivalent to the park's usage for the month.
