  • Justin Lofton garners back-to-back wins at Silver State in Class 1500 on GRABBER™’s.

  • Lofton, Letner and Griffith all claim top-five finishes in Class 1500 and top-10 finishes overall.

Fort Mill, SC – May 7, 2014.  Team GT returned to the rugged Nevada desert for Best in the Desert’s (BITD) third race of the 2014 season, the Canidae Tap It Silver State 300.  Armed with their Red Letter GRABBERTM’s, Team GT was prepared for the competition and the notoriously dusty conditions that the north Nevada desert presents.  Saturday’s race saw 221 of the best off-road team’s hit the road and General Tire-sponsored driver, Justin Lofton, made a statement winning in Class 1500 and finishing third overall.  A mere seven minutes behind overall winner, Jason Voss.  Lofton’s campaign made him a back-to-back winner at Silver State and earned him valuable championship points.

“Congratulations to Justin and his entire team on a superb win at Silver State,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for General Tire.  “Coming from 24th to finish first in class and third overall is no easy feat, but Justin’s talent combined with a fast buggy, and the grip and durability of the GRABBER tire is a powerful combination that can’t be stopped.”

Starting from 24th, Lofton led the Team GT charge in Class 1500.  Harley Letner also made the magic happen after overcoming a problem in qualifying that saw him start 34th.  Letner seemed un-phased by the challenge as he marched his way to a third-place finish in Class 1500 and seventh overall.  Rounding out the top five in Class 1500 was Ray Griffith who piloted his No. 1553 bright yellow buggy on Red Letter GRABBER™’s.  Griffith also finished 10th overall.

Fans can create their own adventure with the same tires Team GT relies on to get them through some of the most demanding terrain across the southwest and to the finish line.  Born from competition, the GRABBER™ is an extreme traction tire providing exceptional off-road grip and durability, balanced with on-road driveability.  Proving that, “Anywhere is Possible”, with General Tire.  Check out our dealer locator to find a dealer near you.
