April 1: Live Webinar on Engaging Building Occupants to Reduce Energy Use

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled “Engaging Building Occupants to Reduce Energy Use” on Tuesday, April 1, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Lynda Boomer will share how MSU's Environmental Stewards program enlists champions from individual campus units or departments to track monthly energy metrics, promote energy-saving practices, and serve as liaisons to MSU’s sustainability program. Jon Utech will explain how the Cleveland Clinic Foundation is partnering with clinicians to smooth the way for technology upgrades and implement behavior-change strategies aimed at reducing energy and water consumption. In addition, Dorothy Schwarz will speak on how Transwestern has developed a number of programs to encourage commercial building tenants to reduce their energy use.

April 3: Live Webinar on Climate Change Impacts and Indian Country: Disaster Response and Recovery

The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled, “Climate Change Impacts and Indian Country: Disaster Response and Recovery” on Thursday, April 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.  The webinar will cover the primary efforts of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to evaluate, assess, and mitigate the impacts of climate change on their disaster recovery and response programs. Under the Stafford Act, Tribes are eligible to receive direct assistance from FEMA and can learn from FEMA and others’ efforts as they assess, plan, and implement their own disaster response and recovery plans to address climate change impacts on their communities. This webinar is the first in the four-part “Climate Change Impacts and Indian Country” webinar series.
