Airbus Group Receives Award In Spain For Its Strong Commitment To Minority Shareholders And Dividend Policy
Airbus Group has been awarded the Shareholder-Friendly prize by the Spanish Association of Minority Shareholders (Asociación Española de Accionistas Minoritarios de Empresas Cotizadas – AEMEC) in recognition of the company’s new dividend policy and its strong commitment to and excellent treatment of its shareholders, and its minority shareholders in particular. At a ceremony in Madrid last night, AEMEC presented its awards for business excellence and the commitment of listed companies to their shareholders. The Shareholder-Friendly Award has a strong European component as it was presented by AEMEC and by all the member associations of EurofinUse, the main representative of shareholder associations in Europe.
In the case of Airbus Group, AEMEC awarded the company the prize in recognition of its positive capital restructuring, which has now provided it with a larger free float, and the excellent performance of Airbus Group shares, the price of which rose last year by around 90%.
“Minority shareholders are an essential part of our company and for this reason we are very pleased with this award. We are extremely proud that the work we do on a daily basis to satisfy our shareholders is valued and recognised,” said Barbara Llopis, Head of Investor Relations for the Airbus Group in Spain. “Airbus Group is a safe asset that Spanish shareholders can trust,” said Llopis.
AEMEC is a non-profit organisation that was founded in 2005 to defend and protect the rights of minority shareholders of companies listed on the stock market. It also represents this group’s interests in dealings with the authorities and the investment community, by remaining in constant contact with the relevant institutions.
