Alexey Sarazhin acknowledged as Gazprom’s Best Welder in 2013
The vocational skills competition for the Gazprom's Best Welder 2013 title was held in St. Petersburg at the Gazprom Transgaz St. Petersburg premises.
The competition was won by Alexey Sarazhin (Gazprom Transgaz Yugorsk).
The second place was shared by Maxim Osipov (Gazprom Dobycha Orenburg) and Anvar Khamatgalimov (Gazprom Transgaz Ufa).
The third place was taken by Vladimir Popov (Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan), Alexey Nikulin (Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol) and Alexander Ivanov (Gazprom Transgaz St. Petersburg).
The fifth industry meeting dedicated to the current status and the main development areas of the welded joint quality control at Gazprom's gas transmission facilities as well as an exhibition of professional equipment took place as part of the competition.
Background
The Gazprom's Best Welder skills competition has been held since 2003 once every two years.
In 2013 representatives of Gazprom Group's 28 gas transmission and production subsidiaries took part in the competition. All of them had won the first stage of the competition held earlier among subsidiaries.
At the second (final) stage the competition participants passed two exams:
- a theory exam – knowledge of welding basics;
- a practice exam – welding of control welded joints with various diameters.
