In the morning, the President and First Lady will travel to New York City. The departure from the South Lawn and the arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport are open press.

In the afternoon, the President will meet with President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria to discuss how we can strengthen our cooperation to advance transparent, democratic governance, expand trade and development, improve security, and create opportunities for youth and entrepreneurs. There will be a travel pool spray at the top of this meeting.

Later in the day, the President will host Heads of State, and representatives of civil society, multilateral organizations, and private foundations to explore ways to protect the critical role civil society plays from growing restrictions in a number of countries around the world. In the evening, the President will participate in a USUN Mission meet and greet with employees and their families. This event is closed press.

Later in the evening, the President and First Lady will host a United Nations General Assembly reception. This event is closed press.
