Jeppesen has announced that its Plan2Nav mobile app for Android devices now supports ActiveCaptain, a leading source of critical cruising data and boating knowledge provided by a worldwide community of navigators.

This cooperative agreement allows users of Plan2Nav to access ActiveCaptains expansive database of local information offline meaning no Internet connection is needed. Because Plan2Nav supports full synchronization, users of the app can update ActiveCaptains offline database whenever they have an Internet connection to receive the latest updates or reviews on marinas, anchorages and more. Combined with Plan2Navs unique features and detailed C-MAP by Jeppesen charts, Android users now have a powerful new tool for use on the water and off.

ActiveCaptain specializes in crowd-sourced information provided by actual boaters on the water, including up-to-date, real world observations of conditions ranging from dangerous shoaling and off-station NavAids to tricky currents at a popular inlet. To ensure accuracy, such information is verified by ActiveCaptain before it is made available to other boaters.
