Michael Burke named chair of American Bar Association’s Section Officers Conference
CHICAGO, Aug.13, 2013 — Michael Burke, a native of Chatham, N.J., recently became chair of the American Bar Association’s Section Officers Conference, a leadership entity within the nearly 400,000-member organization known as the national voice for the legal profession.
Burke is a partner at Arnall Golden Gregory LLP in Washington, D.C., where he focuses on cross-border corporate and commercial transactions.
A longtime member of the ABA, Burke has been active throughout the association, including as chair of the Section of International Law, the ABA representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and the ABA representative to LAWASIA. Burke received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and was named to the Irish Legal 100 in 2012.
Burke grew up in Chatham, N.J. and is a 1989 graduate of Chatham High School. Burke’s parents, Bette and Mike Burke, live on Candace Lane in Chatham.
The ABA’s Section Officers Conference is made up of directors from the ABA’s numerous sections, divisions and forums who aim to the advance the interests of their entities by facilitating advocacy and effective communication, while serving as a central resource and supporting resolution of divergent views.
