DENVER, CO, USA, August 9, 2013 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Denver, August 9, 2013: This week Cannabis Patient Network (CPN) was approved to provide the first cannabis education booth ever authorized by the Colorado State Fair.

With over 500,000 visitors expected at the fair this year, Cannabis Patient Network (CPN) can expect to educate the public about medical cannabis usage in a manner that has not been attempted before—through patient testimonial and science!

With the belief that truthful cannabis education has been kept from the public too long, CPN launched a national Cannabis Patient membership organization on August 8th, expected to attract thousands of patient and caregiver members by month's end.

Approaching cannabis education and research in a unique manner, Cannabis Patient Network Institute (CPNI) will offer cannabis patients nationwide the opportunity to join an organization and offer their direct support for community development, education, and research that positively impacts all patients’ lives.

Cannabis Patient Network Institute’s (CPNI) mission is to empower patients to take an active part in their healthcare, their recovery, and in research that highlights their knowledge and embodied experience.

Founding Director, Mark Pedersen, has dedicated much of the last decade to gathering and archiving cannabis patient stories. Hundreds of patients, most from non-medical states, have shared their stories – and Mark has in turn shared these stories with thousands through the Cannabis Patient Network’s youtube channel.

In connecting with Cannabis Patient Network Institute Director, Regina Nelson, in 2012, whose academic background involves interdisciplinary narrative research, the strength of CPNI’s research goals will be realized. For example, this fall CPNI will assist Patients Out of Time with the recruitment of thousands of Veterans for a large national meta-study as their first endeavor into research. Many projects such as this are in the works.

Believing that it has taken too long for cannabis education to reach the public, Cannabis Patient Network is seeking patient volunteers to assist with the 2013 Colorado State Fair booth. As well, cannabis healthcare providers and businesses may support the educational efforts of this organization by contacting: Regina Nelson, reginanelson.cpn@gmail.com, for more information or to support these efforts.
