Assistant Attorney General Will Speak On National Security Law Challenges
WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 7, 2013 — Lisa Monaco, the assistant attorney general for national security, is the keynote speaker at a breakfast program sponsored by the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Law and National Security.
Monaco leads the Department of Justice’s National Security Division, which focuses on combating terrorism and other threats. The division also works to coordinate efforts between prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, intelligence attorneys and the intelligence community at large. In addition to her current position, Monaco has served as the chief of staff to FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, as counsel to Attorney General Janet Reno and as a federal prosecutor.
This program, which will focus on emerging issues and challenges in national security law, is free to members of the media.
