An author going by the nom de plume Mr. Toakpin Bluntpuff III has self-published an e-book entitled Smoking a 'J' with Jesus to stimulate a public debate around the questions of God’s existence, the life of Jesus, the problems with religious dogma and the role of marijuana on Earth.
In the book, the young protagonist finds himself lost in a lush park setting inhabited by faceless drone-like people and religious figures who take advantage of the faceless hoard. Upon seeing the abuse and questioning his belief in a higher power, the confused teen is confronted by Jesus. Jesus helps him understand the untold secrets of creation and God by way of a jaunt throughout history.
Utilizing a special strain of marijuana called Quadruple-H, Jesus reveals debatable, logical, yet downright controversial ideas about the life and extinction of the dinosaurs, the fallacy of 'Satan,' the creation of death, the dichotomy between free will and God’s will, the true power of human greed, animal souls, Judas’ relationship with Jesus, the crusades, the harsh reality of dying on the cross, proof of aliens, the normality of the Pope, the concept of heaven and the greatest mystery of all – why God no longer interferes in the lives of people as he once did in Old Testament texts.
The book also touches on many contentious issues like child abuse and exploitation in the church, the use of religion to steal and corrupt, intolerance, slavery and killing in the name of God.
Smoking a ‘J’ with Jesus is meant to be both humorous and enlightening with a dash of teenaged immaturity and vulgarity. The notion of the Messiah smoking a giant blunt of pot might offend many readers, but the author believes that if the words stated in the book are read with an open mind, the educational chronic smoke sessions between the teen and Jesus can come across as informative and congenial.
Author Toakpin Bluntpuff III plans to reveal his true identity after he believes enough time has passed to allow the public to assess the book’s ideology based solely on its own merits – without possible bias being developed based on who the writer is.
Toakpin feels the time is right to share his mental journey of “questioning everything in our indoctrinated belief system” with fellow kindred spirits who also feel a need to rethink religion and marijuana usage while still staying true to their beliefs in God and Jesus.
Currently, Smoking a ‘J’ with Jesus is published independently by Latz Kiwed Publishing and is available in e-book format on Amazon.com. Comical and very risqué commercials to promote the book are featured on the You Tube channel 'Latz Kiwed'.
