The U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management announced an important step toward issuing a wind energy research lease to the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Mines Minerals and Energy (DMME) after finding no competitive interest in the area where the state agency proposes to conduct activities.
