Top Book Editor Joins Entangled Publishing
/EINPresswire.com/ Industry veteran Keyren Gerlach leaves traditional publishing (Harlequin) for the exciting new business model of Entangled Publishing.
Entangled Publishing is breaking molds and shaking up the way the publishing business has been conducted, and it is not just about eBooks. Industry veterans like Harlequin's Keyren Gerlach have been paying close attention to the Entangled Business Model. By offering everyone involved in the production of a book, from author and editor to promotion and publicity, a chance to directly benefit from their input, Entangled has achieved unheralded success. Now they are garnering even more attention by attracting leaders in the publishing industry like Gerlach to join the Entangled team.
Keyren Gerlach, the former associate editor and "right-hand man" to the senior editor for Harlequin Romantic Suspense, considers Entangled to be on the brink of becoming a major player in the romance and women's fiction publishing industry. And she should know, having spent more than eight years at Harlequin.
"In these wildly thrilling times, I am excited to continue my publishing career by accepting a position as a senior editor at Entangled/Dead Sexy Books," Gerlach recently said. "I am impressed not only by their tremendous success within such a short period of time, but by their innovative and forward-thinking philosophy. Ultimately they are setting the stage for a nurturing and supportive environment for authors and editors alike."
According to Vicki Wilkerson, managing editor of the Dead Sexy imprint, the Entangled team is feeling energized about adding Gerlach as well.
"The Dead Sexy team has pulled off a major coup by snagging Keyren Gerlach, former editor at Harlequin Books," Wilkerson said. "She's bringing years of experience and all the knowledge she's garnered from her former editing position in New York City to the Dead Sexy family of authors. We are bubbling with excitement at the addition of Keyren!"
Gerlach started her career in publishing early in 2004 as an intern for the advertising and promotion department at Penguin Books. She always knew that editorial would be a better fit for her and jumped at the chance to cut her teeth in the industry as an editorial assistant for Harlequin's single-title program.
In her years with Harlequin, she covered many imprints, from HQN Books to Red Dress Ink to Kimani Press. Gerlach's list of 20+ authors boasted such voices as romance veterans Carla Cassidy, Linda Conrad, and Justine Davis; rising stars Karen Whiddon and Elle Kennedy; and New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristan Higgins.
But she likes to remember that it is romance and to never to take one's self too seriously. "I consider falling in love with the heroes in the books I work on to be the ultimate job perk," Gerlach jokingly says. "But I am constantly on the lookout for the next big thing … a quest I expect to tackle with great aplomb in my new role at Entangled!" Reach Keyren Gerlach on Twitter @keditrix.
