Charles Phillips Charitable Organizations Gifts $250,000 to East Harlem Tutorial Program

Phillips Charitable supports STEM education by sponsoring Robotics team at East Harlem Tutorial Program in New York City.

/EINPresswire.com/Phillips Charitable Organizations contributed $250,000 to East Harlem Tutorial Program (EHTP) this month, becoming Lead Sponsor for its Robotics Program. The scarcity of science and technology programs in East Harlem created the need for a focused program to expose students to engineering.

The Robotics Program helps to transform the lives of East Harlem students and families as a core component of EHTP's STEM program. In 2011, the EHTP Robotics team finished second in a competition of 28 teams. 100% of seniors who completed the EHTP program went on to college. 96% of elementary school participants advanced to the next grade.

By significantly boosting the Robotics Program, PCO will be recognized on all robotics-related promotional activity as well as on the program's robot named "Jackie". PCO will also receive significant recognition at EHTP's Annual Benefit at the highest level of giving: 105th Street Society.

In a letter from Zanetta Addams-Pilgrim, Director of Development and Communications at EHTP, PCO's generous support was acknowledged: "We are so grateful for your enthusiasm and support, and are extremely honored to partner with you."

Phillips Charitable Organization is a 501(c)3 foundation created by Karen Phillips and Charles Phillips Infor CEO to help engineering students, single mothers, and wounded veterans. Infor is the third largest business applications company in the world and is headquartered in Silicon Alley in New York City.

The $250,000 grant to EHTP will be distributed over three years to the organization and will be utilized for EHTP's charitable and educational activities.
