Xerafy Introduces Titanium Metal Skin™, the World's Smallest Read-on-Metal RFID Label
/EINPresswire.com/ Titanium Metal Skin creates new RFID asset management possibilities for customers and makes it possible to track mobile devices, high-value retail items, IT assets and other compact metal assets
Xerafy, Ltd., a global supplier of RFID metal tags, continues its tradition of developing innovative, high-value RFID tags with today's release of Titanium Metal Skin™, the world's smallest, thinnest and most cost-effective on-metal RFID label. Titanium was developed for very cost-sensitive asset management applications.
Titanium Metal Skin is a GS1 EPCglobal Gen 2 and ISO 18000-6C standard UHF RFID label that measures 1.77 x 0.22 x 0.03 inches (45 x 5.6 x 0.86 mm). It is small and flexible enough for use on smart phones, tablet computers and other low-profile assets that require accurate, secure identification. The Titanium is engineered to work well when applied to foil packaging such as pharmaceutical pill bottles or cosmetics.
"Our customers frequently need to track small but expensive engineering assets that pose a challenge for the form factor and readability for most RFID tags. Xerafy's Metal Skin Titanium tags are finally allowing us to provide solutions for such challenging situations," said Rajiv Anand, vice president of engineering at Tagit Solutions (www.tagitinc.com), a leader in providing location-based operational intelligence for the high-tech, semiconductor and manufacturing verticals.
The newest addition to Xerafy's innovative and award-winning Metal Skin product line, Titanium labels include the secure Monza(R) 4QT chip from Impinj. Titanium labels include a serialized 48-bit tag ID, 128 bits of user memory and can be printed with a bar code or human-readable text. Engineered for cost effective asset tracking, inventory management, product authentication and other applications, Titanium Metal Skin provides read range of up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) on metal and supports the U.S. and EU UHF frequency bands.
Metal Skin is a patent-pending technology developed by Xerafy to expand the boundaries of tagging metal assets where the limitations of tag size, flexibility and cost previously created barriers to adoption. The Metal Skin material and form factor enables RFID tags to be applied to any type of metal assets to increase business efficiency. Metal Skin labels typically cost approximately half of traditional on-metal RFID tags. Earlier this year Xerafy Metal Skin won the European Auto ID Award at the Euro ID trade show, and more recently, the Gold Award for the Most Innovative EPC/RFID product conferred by GS1 Hong Kong at the RFID Awards.
"Xerafy's Titanium, the latest addition to the Metal Skin family of affordable on-metal label technology, demonstrates our commitment to pushing the price/performance envelope to further the adoption of RFID in a variety of very cost-sensitive applications that haven't been considered due to tag cost and size," said Xerafy Sales Director for Americas and Europe, Evelyn Ong. "We're very excited over the potential of the Titanium in opening new applications in the on-metal RFID market."
Titanium Metal Skin is available immediately.
