/EINPresswire.com/ Haymarket, Virginia - September 14, 2012 -- Parade, crafts, great foods, trolleys, choo-choo train, ponies, chicks & ducks and more…. What else could you ask for to make a great Haymarket Day celebration? How about Hot Air Balloon Rides, a Hamburger Eating Contest, miniature NASCAR Racing, and an actual NASCAR Racecar, PEVs Paint Ball area, and music by Virginia Blend, & The Back In Time Band and groups featured at the Deja Brew Stage like AKA, Tom Maxwell, Joel Kaiser, Jamie Pyles, The Lonsome Hombres and Choice of Getaway. There will be four stages for your musical entertainment, food vendors lining the street, a beer garden and much, much more.
The one half square mile town of Haymarket, Virginia bursts forth every year on the third Saturday of September. The main street is closed to traffic for the day and following a country style parade, town residents and visitors alike can walk down the center of Washington St. enjoying good food, juried crafts, music, friendly vendors and the enjoyment of good neighbors.
Also the Haymarket Regional Food Bank will be open to receive food donations. "We are very happy to have the opportunity to do some good while having a fun event at the same time", says Gene Swearingen, Town Manager of Haymarket.
The Parade begins at 9:30 am. Awards will be given for Best Float, Most Original Float, Best Performance, and Mayor's Choice. After the parade, local businesses display their wares, local restaurants offer Haymarket culinary delights, music groups, D.J.s, dance groups, clowns and people fill the streets. Local music groups will perform throughout the day as well as dancers, exercisers, and singing choral groups. The smell of hot dogs and hamburgers will fill the air coming from Shawn Foster's famous well-seasoned Grille. You can stop by Giuseppe's Ristorante for drinks from his Tiki bar or great eats from his grill.
