Colony Air Conditioning And Heating Among First In The Nation To Employ JDC University Graduates
Local HVAC contractor in North Texas expands its technical workforce by taking advantage of the air conditioning and heating industry's most innovative training program
/EINPresswire.com/ Colony Air Conditioning and Heating, located in The Colony TX and Frisco Tx areas, is proud to announce that it has added 2 air conditioning and heating technicians to its workforce by hiring graduates of the nation's most innovative air conditioning and heating training program offered by JDC University. The university, located in Irving Texas, is the first to combine classroom and live laboratory training along with real-world air conditioning and heating repair visits with real homeowners. With one-on-one instructor supervision, students are allowed to use their newly learned technical skills to interact with homeowners by diagnosing heating or cooling problems, performing actual repairs, and collecting for services performed.
"This is a well-rounded curriculum that takes learning to a whole new level by including interaction with potential customers", states Katherine Everett, VP of Colony Air Conditioning and Heating. "We are pleased to welcome recent graduates Miguel Hernandez, a Navy veteran, and Keith Menchen to our employee family."
The University primarily targets its recruiting efforts toward returning veterans from all branches of the military. It is committed to helping these individuals take the next steps to a successful career and future. "We're excited about the University because it fulfills two huge needs -- finding qualified HVAC technicians and helping veterans ease back into the private sector," states Everett. According to JDC, "the number one need for HVAC contractors is skilled, trained technicians. The current shortage of technicians in North America is reported to be as high as 25,000 open positions. This number is estimated to grow to well over 100,000 in just a few short years."
Everett adds "High school students are virtually oblivious to a heating and air career; an important career that has allowed the southern states to expand and prosper; a career so integral to our lives that it involves life or death in cases of extreme heat or cold. We are thankful that the university is a local resource for finding high quality technical help that will help our company grow and consistently maintain our quality service and quality employee standards."
