Three Donkeys Confiscated At A Counter-Gay Parade In Jerusalem

/EINPresswire.com/Lakewood, NJ - August 8, 2012 -- Police confiscated three donkeys Thursday, August 2, at a counter-demonstration against the annual gay pride parade in Jerusalem. The donkeys belonged to a farmer named Mr. Baruch Marzev, and they were wearing signs reading, "We are proud to be animals." The police stated that the donkeys needed to be examined for illnesses.

As approximately one thousand participated in the gay parade, a similar number of religious Jews and other pro-family activists counter-demonstrated in Sabbath Square, in the religious neighborhood of Meah Shearim.

In connection with Thursday's demonstration, Shlomo Diamond, a New York activist affiliated with Jewish Morality Independent, released the following statement.

"The gay rights movement is a minority movement, as we see that whenever referendums are held, most people don't want to redefine marriage.

"G-d hates immorality. The Bible (Genesis 6:12) says that immorality was the cause of the Flood. In today's nuclear age, when the destruction of the planet is a real possibility, one must remember the lesson of the Flood more than ever.

"There are evil individuals in the world with the capability to kill millions. But Judaism teaches that G-d runs the world, and He does not let such individuals exercise their power unless punishment is due. Throughout Jewish history, whenever tragedy struck, Jews responded by analyzing their own misdeeds. Today, a gay parade in G-d's Holy City certainly arouses His anger, and we tremble at the implications. Protesting against the parade will at least take away some of that Divine anger.

"We must point out that Jerusalem is indeed the Holy City of G-d, but Orthodox Jews believe that it will be returned to the Jewish people only after they repent and the final redemption arrives.
"Many religious Jews feel that Bible adherents are being targeted for persecution by LGBT radicals and their allies - case in point: Chick-Fil-A. This movement forces them and their children to accept and give their approval to immoral behavior. We want the world to know where we stand, and no one should say they were not warned if wars and suffering begin, G-d forbid.

"We thank the publications who spread this message. May G-d protect the people who uphold His values and standards."
