San Francisco – Facebook Inc. and Yahoo Inc. have agreed to a partnership that will reportedly put an end to their legal battle over alleged patent infringement. As reported by Reuters, the companies made a pact to develop an Internet advertising and licensing partnership last week.
The deal will purportedly expand an existing agreement that facilitates Yahoo content sharing with Facebook users.
Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook board member and Chief Operating Officer, is quoted in the report as saying in a statement regarding the settlement, “I’m pleased that we were able to resolve this in a positive manner and look forward to partnering closely with Ross and the leadership at Yahoo.”
