"We're seeing women and men going back to a more natural appearance when it comes to cosmetic surgery treatments," said Dr. Pope. "Women are wanting fuller lips, but not Angelina Jolie sized lips; they're wanting fuller breasts through breast augmentation surgery, but are keeping the size natural looking."
According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), breast augmentations and tummy tucks were the most popular cosmetic surgery treatments of 2011. "This year, we are certainly seeing a lot of these same procedures again, especially breast augmentation—as expected, but there are a few new procedures growing in popularity that are relatively new to the market," said Dr. Pope.
Brazilian butt lifts are gaining popularity in 2012. According to an article that appeared in the latest Plastic Surgery News from ASAPS, increased interest in this surgery can be accredited to curvy celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Sophia Vergara. According to ASAPS, patient satisfaction from Brazilian butt lifts is extremely high, with some 93 percent of patients very happy with their surgery.
Another surgery that's piquing the interest of women across the United States is the Mommy Makeover. Dr. Pope has performed many Mommy Makeovers of the years, and is seeing more requests than ever. "A full Mommy Makeover can include a tummy tuck, breast augmentation, and breast lift, as well as liposuction," said Dr. Pope. "It's performed all at the same time."
