IDG’s Computerworld names General Mills to 2012 list of 100 Best Places to Work in Information Technology in America

This week IDG’s Computerworld announced that General Mills ranks fourth on its 2012 Best Places to Work in Information Technology list. General Mills is one of 100 companies in America honored for providing rewarding Information Technology careers and great benefits and compensation.  General Mills has made the annual list for 14 years and has been in the top 10 for the last six years.

“We are committed to providing a great workplace where IS professionals feel engaged and challenged throughout the course of their career,” said Mike Martiny, vice president of Global Business Solutions and chief information officer for General Mills. “We build leaders from within and develop and support employees, who, in turn, show commitment to the company and provide outstanding results.”

Computerworld cites the company’s flexibility options and collaborative culture as two of the reasons it ranks so highly on the list in a feature article on the winners that appears in the current issue of Computerworld magazine and online at www.computerworld.com.

“The organizations on this year's Best Places to Work in IT list consistently seek out and hire the most talented IT people, offer them competitive pay and provide great benefits," said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld. "Many of these organizations have spent years building top-notch IT workplaces, and we applaud the amazing work they've done to sustain dynamic environments where IT professionals can work with the latest technologies and play a key role in business-critical projects."
