on Carina and the monsoon rains
The President is in the NDRRMC and is personally taking charge of government efforts to ensure the safety of the public who are being affected by the Monsoon rains exacerbated by Carina.
Mahalaga na sa panahong ito ay matiyak ang kaligtasan ng bawat isa. Tuloy-tuloy naman po ang evacuation at rescue operations kahit na sadyang overwhelmed ang mga barangay, LGUs, MMDA, at iba pang sangay ng pamahalaan.
Hinihiling natin ang kooperasyon ng bawat isa hanggang sa maabot ang lahat ng nangangailangan.
We are helping out in the rescue of stranded individuals and in the provision of emergency relief to those who have already been evacuated.
Lilipas din po ito at makakaraos din tayo.
At pagkatapos niyan, bubusisiin natin, bilang Chairman ng Committe on Public Works, ang mga nangyari at dahilan sa likod ng nagaganap na matinding pagbaha.
Umpisa pa lamang ng taon ay pinaalalahanan na natin ang DPWH at MMDA na isaayos ang mga imprastraktura at drainage, at agaran naman silang tumugon na inihanda na nila ang mga ito. Sa kabila niyan, nakita natin ang matinding epekto at abala ng Habagat.
