Description

The purpose of this program is to implement Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program in communities to support adults with serious mental illness (SMI) who meet state-specific criteria for AOT. Recipients are expected to implement a multi-disciplinary AOT program, working with courts, community partners, and other entities to support community-based treatment for adults with SMI who meet criteria for AOT.

Eligibility

Eligible entities are counties, cities, mental health systems (including mental health authorities), mental health courts, or any other entities with authority under the law of the State in which the applicant is located to implement, monitor, and oversee assisted outpatient programs.

Anticipated Total Available Funding: $15,229,744

Anticipated Number of Awards: 20-30

Anticipated Award Amount: $500,000 to $750,000

Length of Project: Up to 4 years

Cost Sharing/Match Required?: No

Proposed budgets cannot exceed $500,000 to $750,000 in total costs (direct and indirect) in any year of the proposed project. Annual continuation awards will depend on the availability of funds, grantee progress in meeting project goals and objectives, timely submission of required data and reports, and compliance with all terms and conditions of award.
