RUSSIA, October 25 - Russia and Iran agree to expand cooperation in high-technology sectors

Denis Manturov met with Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ruhollah Dehghani Firouz Abadi.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov held a meeting with Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ruhollah Dehghani Firouz Abadi. The parties discussed promising trends in industrial and technological cooperation and outlined a plan for further work.

According to Denis Manturov, last year’s bilateral trade, mostly in agricultural products and food, reached a record high.

“It is necessary to diversify trade and increase the share of high-value-added products, including those of science-intensive industries,” he said.

It is planned to invite research organisations from Russia and Iran to join this effort.

In conclusion, Denis Manturov invited the Vice President of Iran to visit the Innoprom International Industrial Exhibition scheduled to be held in Yekaterinburg from 8 to 11 July 2024.
