Mayor Bowser Awards Over $2.2 Million in Grants to Community Organizations Supporting DC Values

(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser awarded over $2.2 million to 137 community-based organizations through the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs. With these awards, recipient organizations will continue to offer programs that provide direct resources to communities across Washington, DC in areas including health and human services, education, public safety, civic engagement, the arts, and more.  

“Washington, DC has no shortage of organizations and individuals striving to make our city a better place for all,” said Mayor Bowser. “The awardees of these grants represent people and organizations who work tirelessly to advance DC values. We are grateful for their passion, expertise, and commitment to residents of DC.”

The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs is comprised of 14 constituent-focused offices dedicated to delivering culture and advocacy programs through partnerships and mayoral initiatives.

“MOCA offices are the Mayor’s outreach arm when it comes to supporting the district with grants, partnerships, and events ensuring residents are seeing their dreams materialize in culturally competent ways,” said Jackie Reyes-Yanes, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs “These community grant awards reinforce Mayor Bowser’s commitment to revitalize DC’s Downtown, provide job opportunities, and give residents a safe city to work, live, and play.”
