Porsche Celebrates Decade of Triumph in Atlanta; Mayor Franklin to Attend Celebration Honoring Only Automotive Company Headquartered in Atlanta

ATLANTA--Mayor Shirley Franklin will join Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) President and CEO Peter Schwarzenbauer Monday, March 10, as the company celebrates 10 successful years of operating in Atlanta. The celebration will take place at 2:15 p.m. at the company's North American headquarters and include remarks by Mayor Franklin and Schwarzenbauer, followed by an employee reception.

"I am delighted to celebrate such a momentous milestone for both Porsche and the city of Atlanta," said Mayor Franklin. "The Company's international scope and commitment to our local community have made a remarkable impression upon this City. I look forward to partnering with Porsche leaders to strengthen these ties as we continue bolstering Atlanta's national and global prominence."

"Mayor Franklin has proven herself to be a loyal, innovative and highly-regarded leader of the city of Atlanta," said Schwarzenbauer. "To have her join us for such a landmark occasion is more than just an honor; it's a moment we will cherish for many years to come."

Ten years ago PCNA moved its headquarters from Reno, Nev., to the greater Atlanta metro area in Sandy Springs. It was because of Atlanta's pro-business attitude, international flair, proximity to one of the world's largest airports and just a six-hour difference in time with Germany that PCNA decided to call Atlanta home in 1998. Since then, Porsche has enjoyed more success in the United States than at any time in its history.

Last month Porsche announced its fourth consecutive sales record in the United States with total 2007 sales of 34,693 vehicles, nearly double the sales just a decade ago. In Addition, Porsche has grown from 35 to 245 employees and operates a Logistics Services Center near the airport that serves the entire region. Porsche also imports many of its cars from Germany through Georgia's Brunswick Port.

As a strong and vocal advocate of European companies doing business in Atlanta, last year Mayor Shirley Franklin heralded March 2 as "Porsche Day." Later that month PCNA hosted German Ambassador Klaus Scharioth on the 50th Anniversary of the European Union to further commemorate this day. Additionally, Porsche is a proud partner of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and its initiatives to draw more German businesses to the community, and sponsored a 10-day global trade tour to Leipzig, Dresden and Nuremberg with civic and business leaders to explore growth opportunities in Europe and the Southeastern United States.

"When you look at Porsche's last 10 years, you can see growth in our sales, and just as importantly, success in our way of doing business," Schwarzenbauer said. "While clearly the market's reaction to our products is the biggest reason for this success, I am convinced that being here in Atlanta played a huge role in our solid results and enhanced service to our customers and 212 North American dealers."

While Los Angeles remains Porsche's top U.S. market, Atlanta ranks as the 6th best in the country with two of the top dealers in the nation: Jim Ellis Porsche in Atlanta, and Hennessy Porsche North Atlanta in Roswell.

Among its many community achievements, PCNA is a long-standing member of the German American Chamber of Commerce South and supports Atlanta's TechBridge, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Life University Wheelchair Tennis Masters Series, and the United Way. PCNA is also proud to be one of the first corporate patrons of the Georgia Aquarium.

"PCNA has enjoyed a healthy association with Atlanta, and we want to encourage our business leaders to develop similar positive relationships," said Schwarzenbauer. "We are gratified to see the growing number of German companies based here that reflect the strong economic partnership between Germany and the State of Georgia. I can assure you that PCNA is looking forward to even more success here in the next decade of doing business here."

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), based in Atlanta, GA, and, Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd. (PCL) in Mississauga, Ontario, are the two importers of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne sport utility vehicles for the United States and Canada respectively. They are wholly owned, indirect subsidiaries of Dr. Ing.h.c. F. Porsche AG. Combined, PCNA and PCL employ approximately 260 people who provide Porsche vehicles, parts, service, marketing and training for its 200 U.S. and 12 Canadian dealers. They, in turn, provide Porsche owners with best-in-class service.
