Warner Reminds Delinquent Business Owners of Annual Report Requirement

Charleston, W.Va. — Secretary of State Mac Warner and his Business & Licensing Division are making an end-of-the-year attempt to encourage delinquent business owners to file their 2018 Annual Report. The annual filing was originally due on July 1st.

Annual reports are required by State Code to be filed annually with the Secretary of State’s Office. Filing an annual report ensures that the organization’s addresses and officers or members are kept current, which helps prevent business identity theft. Currently, there are more than 103,000 licensed and registered entities conducting business in the Mountain State.

Phone calls to delinquent businesses throughout the state begin today and will be completed by the end of this week. The call will be made to the phone number that the business identified on last year’s annual report as its primary contact. Multiple email attempts have previously been made to encourage filing.

According to Warner, Business & Licensing Division professionals will be manning the phones to provide personal service to help bring every delinquent business into full compliance.

“We are here to assist every business. We want to make it easy to properly file their annual report,” Warner said.

Any business owner wanting to file their annual report can log onto www.business4.wv.gov or call the Business & Licensing Division at (304) 558-8000.
