Moscow, ANGOLA, April 3 - Angolan head of State João Lourenço Wednesday in Moscow, Russia, reiterated the two countries need to give greater impetus on bilateral cooperation, by extending it to public-private partnerships.,

Addressing the Russian Parliament in Moscow, the Angolan President mentioned, in addition to establishing public-private partnerships, the creation of joint enterprises as a path to follow in this process.

"Angola has all interest in changing this framework" with partnerships in "the fields of manufacturing, agro-industry, energy, geology and mining, fisheries, tourism, among other priority sectors," he said.

In his speech, João Lourenço described the existing relations between the two countries as an example of the new spirit that should guide the sovereign states.

Thursday, João Lourenço will decorate President Vladimir Putin with the Agostinho Neto Order, at Kremlin, the highest single-degree distinction of the Angolan State granted to nationals and foreigners, in particular heads of State and Government, political leaders and other heavyweight individuals.

Delegations from both countries are also expected to hold talks in Moscow.

João Lourenço will visit Bolshoi Theater, one of the best ballet schools in the world, as well as a historic building in Moscow city.

Cooperation between Angola and Russia date back to 1976, when the two countries signed a treaty of friendship and cooperation.

Trade between the two countries stood at USD 500 million in 2016, 15 times higher than that of 2012 (USD 25 million).
