MPLA leader urges society to monitor Executive actions

Luanda, ANGOLA, November 30 - The ruling MPLA party's president João Lourenço Friday urged the militants to monitor the actions conducted by the party's leadership, Executive and other sectors of society to avoid falling into certain temptations. ,

 

João Lourenço made the call at the opening ceremony of VI Ordinary Session of the MPLA Central Committee, he presided over for the first time as the party’s leader.

 

The MPLA leader called on his militants to maintain the unity and cohesion of the party in order to ensure its commitment to transparency and good governance as well as ready to crackdown on corruption, impunity, nepotism and protect the fundamental rights of citizens.

 

With few days left before 10 December, the date the party will mark 62nd anniversary since its creation, the MPLA president recalled the ideals for which the party’s founding leaders fought.

 

During the event, scheduled to end on Saturday (December 1), the militants will be informed on the Transparency and Rescue operations, the draft 2019 State Budget, the party's budget for this period.

 

Other issues include diagnosis of the health sector, preparation process for local elections, and other internal aspects of the party.
