The latest partnership with The Gen Z Critics (GZC) Club brings young film critics together, giving them a platform to broadcast their opinions while helping them to connect with fellow critics. This winter, the club will be hosting its first annual contest for aspiring film critics. Upon submission of their application, all applicants will automatically become members. Five winners will be chosen, and, upon selection, will have their reviews published. The website, www.genzcritics.com, serves as both a point of contact and archive for members.

The team has created a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo HERE-so that it may cover expenses and grow with marketing and support. "If this is successful, Gen Z Critics can be a trusted source by movie distributors to gain interest for their films with an extremely valuable age group," she added.

The NYFCS plans to utilize all current relationships along with their network of 65 independent theaters and industry resources to promote the success of GZC. Synergy includes live interaction with preeminent film critics and movie business professionals. Other opportunities will feature GZC members on-screen during national events as well as across all proprietary channels. On-line group chats and filmed sit-downs with notable journalists and other film professionals are also planned.

The NYFCS is partnered with the nation's leading independent cinemas to present live, in-theater events. The evenings are moderated by Peter Travers, Film critic for Rolling Stone Magazine and ABC's Popcorn. Elizabeth "Betsy" Kim: A senior at the Winsor School in Boston, Kim is the head of her school film club, having spearheaded efforts to introduce a film studies course to the school curriculum. (The course has been approved by the academic council and will be taking place in the spring of 2017.) As co-concertmaster of the New England Conservatory's Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Kim also enjoys playing chamber music. In December of 2016, Kim's 22-page paper on filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl will be published in The Concord Review. Her top films of 2016 were Zootopia and 45 Years, and her favorite film critics are Stephanie Zacharek and Richard Corliss.

Mark Ehrenkranz: Ehrenkranz is the producer of New York Film Critics Series, curating the Kinest Films available along with the guests for the ongoing seasons. Ehrenkranz has also served as the producer of Turbulent Souls-a full-length feature film based on the memoirs of Stephen J. Dubner, Creator/Marketing Director for VideoLine and Associate Supervising Director for Michael Nesmith's Prime Time NBC Series, Television Parts at the Pacific Arts Corporation. He has developed comedy videos for Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, and Whoopi Goldberg, in addition to having collaborated with theatrical NYC comedians in comedy videos.

Jami Ganz: Ganz was the founding Editor-In-Chief of Binghamton University's Odyssey Online branch, a "social media platform committed to democratizing content creation while personalizing discovery." The magazine and media firm, which has accumulated a group of over 10,000 young writers, has been hailed as the "Most Exciting Company.. Seen Since BuzzFeed" by entrepreneur Michael Lazerow. While pursuing a BA in English at Binghamton, Ganz frequented the Dean's List and worked in multiple departments, such as Cinema, Admissions, and Geography. Ty Burr (Boston, MA): Burr has been a film critic for The Boston Globe since 2002. Burr is also the author of the critically-acclaimed cultural history book, Gods Like Us: On Movie Stardom and Modern Fame. He previously worked as a senior critic for Entertainment Weekly, where he covered film, music, theater, books, and the web. Burr also authored The Best Old Movies for Families and the e- book, The 50 Movie Starter Kit: What You Need to Know if You Want to Know What You're Talking About.

Ethan Gilsdorf (Providence, RI): Journalist, memoirist, essayist, critic, poet, teacher and nerd Ethan Gilsdorf is the author of the award-winning book Fantasy Freaks and Gaming Geeks.
