Timberline Knolls Names New CEO, William A. Parsons Jr., Ph.D.


/EINPresswire.com/ -- CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - June 14, 2016) - Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center, located outside of Chicago in Lemont, Ill., has named William A. Parsons Jr., Ph.D., as CEO.

Timberline Knolls, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, is the nation's leading residential treatment center for women and adolescent girls struggling with eating disorders, addiction, trauma, mood and co-occurring disorders.

Parsons attended Auburn University in Ala., where he earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master's degree in counseling. In addition, at the University of Florida, he obtained a Doctorate in counseling.

Parsons has worked in the behavioral health field for 35 years. He started in Gainesville, Fla., as director of the not-for-profit Adult Outpatient Services of Mental Health Services Inc. He then moved to Panama City and served as the administrator of Rivendell Psychiatric Hospital. After nearly six years in that position, he started Ventures Healthcare, a management company responsible for providing psychiatric services to med/surg hospitals and community mental health centers.

From 2009 to 2014, Parsons worked for Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He served as chief administrator of the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital and associate executive director of Vanderbilt Behavioral Health.

Prior to coming to Timberline Knolls, Parsons also completed a one year assignment for Acadia Healthcare to open a new 120 bed psychiatric hospital in Dartmouth, Mass.
