Government of Canada Invests in Dairy Research Cluster

Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Lawrence MacAulay announced today that the Government of Canada is investing an additional $1.75 million in the dairy research cluster to further increase milk production and improve our understanding of the health effects of dairy fat.

This new investment, under the Growing Forward 2 agricultural framework, will enable the Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) to tap into research conducted by AAFC scientists, bringing the total investment under the research cluster to $13.75 million.

The cluster, launched in 2013, brings together scientific expertise in key areas such as sustainable milk production, dairy genetics and genomics, and the nutrition of milk products.
