Edgewood Dental Office Hires Dental Assistants, Dental Hygienist

EDGEWOOD, KY--(Marketwired - January 28, 2016) -  Edgewood Dental Care, a comprehensive family dental practice, has added three new employees to its growing dental team.

/EINPresswire.com/ -- The office recently hired two new expanded duties dental assistants, Jessica and Whitney, and a registered dental hygienist, Darlisa. In addition to its full range of services, Edgewood Dental Care is a leading provider of preventive and restorative dental care.

"As we continue to grow, it's important that we have the most skilled dental professionals working with our dedicated patients," said Dr. Kevin McMahon of Edgewood Dental Care. "Jessica, Whitney and Darlisa are incredible additions to our dental team, and we're excited for our patients to get to know them."

Both dental assistants and dental hygienists are vital parts of overseeing patients' oral health. Expanded duties dental assistants work chairside with the dentists, perform sterilization for dental instruments and offer assistance in fabricating dental restorations. Dental hygienists perform routine cleanings and dental exams and work with the patients to keep the teeth and mouth healthy.

Unlike other area dental offices, Edgewood Dental Care offers special decay prevention and nutritional counseling. The dental team can meet with patients of all ages to discuss how the right diet can help patients keep their teeth healthy.

"Our office puts a high premium on preventive care because we'd rather see patients keep their natural teeth than go through extensive and costly dental treatments," Dr. McMahon said.

Edgewood Dental Care offers general dentistry, restorative dentistry, sedation dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, gum disease treatment, dental implants, wisdom tooth removal, root canals and full orthodontics -- including traditional braces and Invisalign.

The practice uses cone beam computed tomography to take 3-D images of patients' mouths, oral cavity, jawbone and neck; intraoral cameras to take high-resolution images of patients' teeth for education and diagnosis; CEREC technology to provide same-day crowns; LANAP laser technology to treat gum disease; IV sedation to treat fearful patients or patients in need of multiple dental treatments in one visit; and The Wand to deliver pain-free injections.

Edgewood Dental Care provides free coffee, drinks and healthy snacks to its patients and has amenities that will help keep patients comfortable during treatment.

Dr. McMahon uses dental implants in his practice to replace missing teeth or to stabilize dentures. He also provides bone grafting for patients who have had their jawbone deteriorate with the loss of their teeth. In July, Dr. McMahon was named a Diplomate of the renowned International Dental Implant Association. This recognition is awarded to dentists who have completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in dental implant training.

Dr. McMahon earned his undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of Kentucky and began Edgewood Dental Care in 1986. Dr. McMahon takes more than 100 hours of continuing education every year to offer his patients the highest quality of dentistry. Dr. McMahon runs Edgewood Dental Care alongside Drs. Daryl Peak, D.G. Gutman and Troy Kramer.
