Both dental assistants and dental hygienists are vital parts of overseeing patients' oral health. Expanded duties dental assistants work chairside with the dentists, perform sterilization for dental instruments and offer assistance in fabricating dental restorations. Dental hygienists perform routine cleanings and dental exams and work with the patients to keep the teeth and mouth healthy.
