GSRC Services and Staff Incorporated Into SLII, CAPS
-
All services offered through the GSRC are still available to students through SLII and CAPS.

The recent moves are part of an ongoing merger between Multicultural Affairs and Student Involvement that created Student Leadership, Involvement, and Inclusion in Summer 2023.
LGBTQIA+ student services and programming, formerly housed in the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC), now have new homes within the Division of Student Life and Wellbeing.
In May, education and outreach functions of the GSRC moved to Student Leadership, Involvement, and Inclusion (SLII) in Milo Bail Student Center (MBSC) Room 113. Effective July 1, victim advocacy functions are in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Victim advocates can be contacted via phone at 402.554.2030. Their future space is under construction in the Health & Kinesiology (H&K) Building.
Victim advocacy services will remain intact with no changes other than their physical office location. Appointment options include telephone, Zoom, and in-person.
“Our goal from the beginning of this merger was to maximize available staff and resources to support the retention, and graduation of all students. This realignment of amazing staff and services achieves that goal for our LGBTQIA+ Mavericks,” UNO Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students Cathy Pettid said.
Student government agencies Queer and Trans Services (QTS) and the Women and Gender Equity Center (WGEC) continue to serve as resources for students.
